Purple Vesper

Purple Vesper

Paper Title: Graff Zivin, J, B Krebs, M Neidell, “Private Adoption of Public Good Technologies: The Case of PurpleAir,” NBER WP #32356.

Cocktail Pairing: Purple Vesper

Rationale: This paper examines the private adoption and diffusion of PurpleAir pollution monitors and assesses the degree to which these purchases generate valuable public information.  The cocktail here is a simple twist on the classic Vesper Martini made famous in the first James Bond novel Casino Royale.  It utilizes Empress Gin to impart the purple color invoked by the device that we study, and a few sips will yield all the ‘information’ any would-be spy would want to know.  The Purple Vesper is a bright and slightly more bitter cousin of the regular martini and one with a color that would have even made the mighty Prince proud (R.I.P).
